Organisers of England's iconic Reading and Leeds have just announced that Metallica will headline the festival next year. The last time the legendary rockers appeared at the event was in 2008, and their appearance next year will mark their fourth headlining slot.
On the Reading and Leeds website, Lars Ulrich revealed the bands joy over the news. "We are obviously beyond thrilled to be returning to headline the magnificent and mighty double shot at Reading and Leeds for the forth time. We are practically the house band. Bring it!."
Organisers have revealed a number of other acts including Jamie T, Refused, Manchester, Pierce the Veil, and Wilkinson.
Hip hop favourites Run the Jewels is also set to to appear some time during the three day event. The duo featuring El-P and Killer Mike released their sophomore LP in October of this year. The release has been praised by critics as one of the best hip hop releases of the year.
Festival boss, Melvin Benn, also gave insight into his thoughts on the 2015 line up, "I'm looking forward to revealing the rest of the Festival lineup, which will feature the absolute best of rock, indie, dance and hip hop and will only add to the amazing atmosphere that make Reading and Leeds so special."
Reading and Leeds will appear during August Bank Holiday Weekend on August 28-30 2015.
