It's our favourite time of the year - Soundwave season - and to make this time even more amazing, Soundwave has announced news of a sidewave featuring none other than The Smashing Pumpkins. We're talking about a band that has not only won numerous Grammy awards, but have also sold over 30 million albums.
12 years ago saw the band break into the mainstream media due to the success of the critically acclaimed Siamese Dreams. But it was 2 years later when Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness was released that saw them truly explode. These and further releases saw the band dominate the 90's music scene and gain a loyal band base. Even after all these years, their following is still in the masses. 2014 saw the release of Monuments to an Elegy, and in 2015 the highly anticipated Day For Night will be unleashed.
With catalogue that contains such tracks as ‘1979’, ‘Tonight Tonight’, ‘Perfect’, ‘Bullet With Butterfly Wings’, ‘Farewell & Goodnight’, ‘Today’ and ‘That’s The Way (My Love Is)’ fans can expect to see a range of new and old hits, which is sure to please everyone.
The Smashing Pumpkins will be returning to Australia in February with mainstay Jeff Schroeder on guitars, and very special guests Brad Wilk from Rage Against The Machine on drums and Mark Stoermer from The Killers on bass. Tickets to their sidewave are due to go on sale January 21st at 9am EST.
