Best Coast to play shows in Melbourne and Sydney
As part of their slot at Splendour In The Grass this year Best Coast will play sideshows at Corner Hotel in Melbourne and Oxford Art Factory in Sydney.
Hailing all the way from Los Angeles, Best Coast have become much loved for their fusion of jangle pop, lo-fi, and indie pop. 2010 saw them unleash their debut album Crazy for You. The release received favourable reviews, including from Ian Gormely from Exclaim! who said the album was "fuzzed out lo-fi recordings are all the rage, but Bethany Cosentino rises above her peers on her Best Coast debut, striking the perfect balance between reverb-drenched vocals and classic California pop hooks."
The duos forthcoming third LP California Nights is set for release on May 5th. Bethany Cosentino, on vocals and guitar, hinted that the album is influenced by the sounds of The Go-Gos, Gwen Stefani, and Sugar Ray.
Best Coast last graced our shores when they were here for Falls Festival and Southbound in 2013.
