Melbourne duo, Friendships are back with another new thrilling track titled 'Monarch To The Kingdom Of The Dead'. They have collated a dark and twisted music video to go with it that is a true trip in itself. It shoes local civilians in the street depicted and spotlighted in a culture un-leashment from cutting them out and placing them into another scene in a pixel dub. It has a humorous and intriguing factor to it that finds you hooked into watching from start to end.
The footage was taken from the streets of Footscray, Melbourne made by Misha Grace in collaboration with Melbourne based artist Ami Taib.
Of ‘Monarch To The Kingdom Of The Dead’, Misha says “friendships’ music has always been strongly connected with the club scene, the energy the rhythms and the big fat bass beats insights movement. We wanted to adapt that sound to something more everyday and perhaps even mundane, and see how that energy connected and influenced with the 9 to 5. It was important for us to represent this side of friendships and to take it away from the mirror of subculture.”
Nic and Misha have performed a successful string of shows around Australia, supporting the likes of Shigeto, Cashmere Cat, Mr Carmack, RL Grime, Mark Pritchard, and Sinjin Hawke. 2014 saw friendships develop internationally, taking their project across America.
The Melbourne based duo will also be hitting the road in support of their new material with a string of headline shows in the US starting on May 27th at New York's Piano's.
