Gig News: Jay Electronica announces Australian tour for July

Wednesday, May 13, 2015

Jay Electronica has been one of hip-hop's most innovative and progressive figures for many years. He burst onto the scene after the release of his 2007 mixtape Act 1: Eternal Sunshine (The Pledge). The mixtape was based on instrumental samples from Jon Brion's Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind soundtrack.

After receiving public endorsement from the one and only Kanye West, he signed to Jay-Z's Roc Nation record label - joining the likes of J. Cole and Rita Ora. He has also appeared on tracks with Common, Big Sean, Curren$y and Mac Miller, plus many others. His achievements have been major considering he is yet to drop his debut album yet.

If you want to catch Jay Electronica whilst he is town, he will be appearing at shows in Melbourne, Sydney and Perth. Tickets will go on sale at 10am this Friday via Live Nation. Scroll down for dates and venue info.
