FEATURE: 5 Local Tracks We Can't Get Enough Of This Week

It's Friday, which means it's time to share some local sounds that have been released recently that we can't stop playing. Check out our five discoveries below.

Akroyd Smart - ‘I Can Do Anything’

Melbourne rapper, producer, and singer (that’s right, he can do it all!) has been gaining attention for a while now. He’s debut release INTROVERT made waves here as well as on the international scene. ‘I Can Do Anything’ was entirely self-produced and is all about positivity - what’s not love about that. The nostalgic track features R&B vocal harmonies as well as incredible production.

Darling James - ‘Ultimatum Talk’

Though this one isn’t technically new - it’s been out for a month - he will be hitting the road this July, first on the 4th at Grand Central Hotel in Brisbane supporting LANKS’ tour, and then on the 5th at Brisbane Powerhouse (free entry). The ex frontman of The Boat People delivers on this explosive track.

Bottlecock - ‘Girt By Dickheads’

Featuring infectious pop riffs and their trademark metallic distortion. They’ve been killing it recently, with frequent airplay on community radio 4ZZZ, plus they’ve made their way to #1 on the broadcasters weekly charts, and made the top 10 on their yearly chart in 2014.

Them Bruins - ‘Heading For The Harrows’

After wrapping up a highly successful residency run at Cherry Bar in Melbourne, as well as an East Coast Tour, Them Bruins have released a new track entitled ‘Heading For The Harrows’. With scorching and energetic tinges, the track will have you hooked. With headline shows planned for Melbourne and Sydney next month, they’re definitely ones to watch!

Capre - ‘Get Off On You’

Brisbane-based duo Capre recently released their debut EP Cassette Mixte. They’re fast becoming known for mixing elements of hip-hop, indie rock, and electronic to create a sound that is progressive, raw and urban. For a taste of the EP, listen to ‘Get Off On You’, it will get you relaxed and ready for a killer weekend!
