Feature: 5 Local Tracks We Have On Repeat This Week

Thursday, June 4, 2015

So many killer tunes have been released within the last few weeks - we sift through some of the releases to bring you some of our favourites that we can't stop playing. Check them out below.

Tiny Little Houses - 'Easy'

Formally a solo project, now a four-piece, Tiny Little Houses have released a track from their upcoming debut EP. The dreamy number tells the story of a break-up that took place midway through a date at Luna Park. You can also catch them on the road on July 31st in Sydney and August 8th in Melbourne. They're definitely ones to watch!

Edward R. - 'Wolves And The Water'

If you need a pick-me-up song this week, this one is a perfect one for you. He recently played a string of shows around his now-home Melbourne. This one will warm you with every listen - prepare to be hooked.

The Harlots - 'On My Way'

So far our playlist sees Melbourne dominating - The Harlots are another one from this end of town who are creating some magical stuff. The thing I love most about 'On My Way' is that it was recorded straight onto tape - allowing them to present something that is candid and raw. The track is all about not worrying about what you choose to do, as long as it's something that keeps you moving.

Lake Monsters - 'Thoughts Come Around Midnight'

Okay, I know this one isn't a new release in the sense that it was released a month ago, but I still think it deserves a place in this weeks playlist. The mesmerising folk track is full of goodness. I randomly stumbled across this one and I am glad I did as I am now addicted - fyi, after two listens, I raced to their bandcamp and purchased the rest of the release. I look forward to seeing what they do next!

Fox & Fowl - 'Spark'

Last week, Fox & Fowl unleashed their new single 'Spark'. You wouldn't guess it, but this one is inspired by the uproar of Brazilians during the preparation for the World Cup. You can actually catch them on road this week - tomorrow in Sydney (Brighten Up Bar) and Saturday in Melbourne (Grace Darling Hotel)
