Melbourne's very own, Ali Barter, has shared a taste of her new single 'Hypercolour' - which will be available for digital download next Friday June 26. The track is the first single from her forthcoming third EP entitled AB-EP, due to drop this September.
Originally a trained choirgirl, who ran away to be a sporadic traveller of the world, she eventually returned to Melbourne with a life lived and stories to share. Since her return, the former triple j unearthed winner has been busy creating magical tunes exhibiting her unique brand of smokey-smooth alternative rock.
Her latest offering 'Hypercolour', features a sleek coating of delay petals long with a steering baseline. Ali's vocals are lush, as she glides over the track brilliantly. When discussing the track, she said, "“I once heard a guy speaking about his life and how he was always looking for a 'hypercoloured' experience of reality, and I get that. I've constantly looked for something bigger and better. This song was written over 2 years and I guess I was letting go of this idea during that time. It's about mourning a loss, and breaking free at the same time.”
With her sublime vocals and distinctive sound, we look forward to seeing and hearing what she does next. A stripped down version of 'Hypercolour' can be viewed here.
