'Hills' opens up on an uplifting note - then very quickly that deteriorates and transforms the listener to a dark, dooming place. Containing brisk and rapid percussion, shifting beats and the haunting sounds of a piano, the next stage of the track will have you in shivers - almost scared that something bad might be approaching. Jack Grace's new release is perfectly imperfect. He weaves all these contrasting elements entrancingly and it's impossible for you not to be intrigued in from the spine-tingling emotions of the track.
Jack first discovered his love of songwriting and electronic music during his teenage years in Regional NSW. Whilst studying the piano, he spent time perfecting the art of writing and recording. 'Hills' marks his first solo release, due to appear of his upcoming EP.
'Hills' premiered via Pigeons & Planes on June 21, and has been available globally since June 22. It was released by Jack's own independent label, The Fantastic Association (T.F.A). You can also catch him on the road during his support slot for BUOY's show at GoodGod in Sydney on July 8. Tickets are available here.
