With the release of their fifth studio album Magnifique fast approaching on July 17, Brooklyn experimental duo, Ratatat, have released a new single 'Abrasive' as well as a video to go with it.
'Abrasive' is one of their most densest tracks yet. The uptempo harmonious number is far from abrasive. If anything, their new release is reminiscent of old school Ratatat. The one will have you groovin'. Known for their layering, this sometimes sees them use up to 30-layered guitars at once - still remaining in tune. The music video was drawn by Ratatat's very own E.VAX and features over 400 illustrations, some were taken from their recording sessions from the new album.
Magnifique will see them return to their core guitar-driven sound. They've recorded the LP over the last four years across studios in New York, Jamaica and their native Brooklyn.
