Earlier this month, we featured BANFF's new track 'All Again'. Last Friday he released his debut EP Future Self and will be hitting the East Coast starting next month, including stops in Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. What song reminds you of your youth?
'Reptilia' by The Strokes. Was a smash hit as I was going through my high school years and one of the first songs I remember trying to cover in a high school band called 'The Origin of Species' (we never released a song).
What song is your ultimate party track?
'I Go to Rio', Peter Andre. Can’t say that wouldn’t put you in the party zone.
What song do you listen to before you jump on stage?
I don’t really listen to any music before going on stage. Whatever’s spinning on the in-house system. If you were to ask me which song I would have play on the in-house system before jumping on stage, I would most likely say Neil Young's ‘Heart of Gold’.
What song would you make your theme song?
'Roscoe' by Midlake.
What song reminds you of your first heartbreak?
‘Look At You’ by My Morning Jacket. I had the album ‘Evil Urges’ in my car CD player at the time so many tracks from that album reflect that strange and awkward period of time.
What do you have on repeat right now?
'Nobody Dies Anymore' by Tweedy. I’m a huge fan of this project from Jeff Tweedy and his son Spencer. To me that song captures life’s trials and tribulations flawlessly. Jeff seems to challenge the notion of what the world would be like if our existence was never ending. So many different perspectives wound into one neat and understated song.
What song is your guilty pleasure?
'Steal My Sunshine' by Len
