FEATURE: This Weeks Most Addictive Tracks

Friday, August 14, 2015

The week has now come to an end and it's time to share some new discoveries we've made this week. Though our weekly round-ups usually feature local tunes, we've decided this week that we're going to bring some international sounds to the feature. Check out our favourite tunes below that have been released in August.

Glass Animals - 'Gold Lime'
The hip-hop inspired track released by Glass Animals is one of the most sensual of this weeks round-up. Apparently they couldn't decide on one cover, so instead they fused 'Gold Lion' by Yeah Yeah Yeahs and 'A Healer' by Erykah Badu'.

Deer - 'Cry For Help'
Melbourne producer Deer (aka Tom Hitchcock) has been slowly been climbing up the ranks. He's supported everyone from Ryan Hemsworth, Alison Wonderland  and Shlohmo and is set to make a few appearances this month - including at the The Carbon x Adidas event at Melbourne Museum tomorrow and at Nina Las Vegas 'NLV Presents' party on August 21.

Oh Wonder - 'Drive'
The uplifting pop track is the latest offering by duo Oh Wonder. Though it exhibits carefree vibes, the track is quietly dark and features emotional lyrics which detail the painful drive home after a break up. Recently it was announced that they will be making their way to Australia to play Falls Festival and Southbound at the end of the year. Their debut album will be released on September 4th, every single that has been released from the album thus far has topped the Hype Machine chart and, altogether, have garnered an incredible 33.5 million streams across SoundCloud and Spotify. They’ve also featured in Spotify’s Viral 50 Top Ten in the UK, US and Global charts.

klee shade - 'Beg For Rain'
'Beg For Rain' is a track about gratitude, endeavour, and release. It also features fine use of pounding drums and captivating guitar melodies and harmonies. klee shade is a self-taught multi-instrumentalist, and his first single has left us intrigued. We look forward to seeing what he does next.

Eleanor Dunlop & Paul Conrad - 'Rollin' On'
Sydney songstress Eleanor Dunlop has returned with a rework of her latest single with Paul Conrad. Prominent for his lush & moody production in his solo material, Conrad has combined Dunlop's enchanting vocals with his innovative sounds to create a track which is otherworldly. The rework sees Dunlop move in a new direction and hopefully we see more of this magic on her upcoming EP. You can catch her live at Newtown Social Club on August 20 supporting Kira Puru.
