FEATURE: Local Tracks We've Loved This Week
To celebrate the end of another exciting week, we present to you some local jams that we've been hooked to this week.
Oscar Galt & The Eventual Somethings - 'Recompense':
Set to feature on the bands forthcoming EP Play Things, 'Recompense' is fast paced rock n roll and dirty garage rock at it's finest. Play Things will be the first of two twin EP's that the band are set to release over the next six months. They've also got an upcoming residency upstairs at The Tote every Thursday starting on October 1. On their final day on October 22, they'll be officially launching 'Recompense'!
Moses Gunn Collective - 'Hole In The Wall':
After releasing one of our favourite albums of the year thus far, Mercy Mountain, Brisbane psych-rock gods Moses Gunn Collective have released 'Hole In The Wall' as their most recent single. All it takes is one listen of the smoothness of 'Hole In The Wall' for you to become lost in the weird and wonderful world of Moses Gunn Collective.
Auguste - 'Slow Motion':
We've seen all sorts of duos, including couples and twins, but now it's time for a step-sister to create their mark. Skye and Beth, who are from Adelaide, have unleashed their powerful debut single 'Slow Motion'. The alluring track is about infatuation and that feeling when desire consumes every part of you. Skye says of the track "‘Slow Motion’ about that feeling you get when you unexpectedly see someone you are in love with or infatuated by. Everything starts to move in slow motion and feelings come crashing in from all directions, both physically and emotionally"
Postblue - 'Glow Like Crazy':
Melbourne's Postblue have shared new single 'Glow Like Crazy'. The track sees them embark on an exciting new direction from anything they've done before. In recent times, Postblue have transformed from a 3 piece into a 4 piece, with Brett Sutton joining the band as of the Poison City Weekender festival in Melbourne. You'll be able to catch them live on October 15 in Melbourne at Shebeen, and October 22 at Brighton Up Bar in Sydney.
MKO Sun - 'Black Seaweed':
Amazingly talented singer/songwriter MKO Sun has dropped her new single + video for her latest track 'Black Seaweed'. Featuring haunting melodies and an infectious hook, 'Black Seaweed' is an emotional track about an intense nightmare she had. Hannah Macklin aka MKO Sun said in regards to her new single. "The song deals with themes of depression and is a plea to myself to open up and share these feelings with others." The video features captivating visuals as well as incredible choreography.
