Tuesday, September 22, 2015

Fresh from the release of her brand new EP Oh The Gold this month, Ainslie Wills has squeezed some time in to take part in our latest edition of 'What Song...'. You can also catch her on the road late next month in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, scroll down for dates below.

What song reminds you of your youth? Roxette
There are too many to choose from!! The first one that popped into my head though was Roxette. I remember tripping somewhere on a family holiday in the family wagon , which would have been some kind of boxy Magna, having Roxette's Joyride album on tape blaring in the car. Good times!

What song is your ultimate party track? Deee-lite - 'Groove is in the Heart'
That would have to be Groove is in the Heart by Deee-lite. I've danced to that song with many people, many times.

What song would you love to sample? West Side Story - 'The Rumble'
I've have obsessed with this movie ever since I saw it as a teenager. Even if you aren't a fan of Musicals but had to choose one to see, this is the one!

What song would you make your theme song? Harry Nilsson - 'Everybody's Talkin'

What song was last stuck in your head? Peter Gabriel - 'In Your Eyes'
In Your Eyes by Peter Gabriel. I first heard it in the movie Say Anything with John Cusack and fell in love. It's got this Afro-80's feel to it that is truly infectious.

What do you have on repeat right now? Tame Impala
Tame Impala's Currents record, I know I'm not alone here.

What song is your guilty pleasure? Barbra Streisand and Barry Gibb - 'Guilty'
Actually, rather funnily -  Guilty by Barbra Streisand and Barry Gibb has been a recent guilty pleasure. So uncool I know but it feeeeels goooood.
