Melbourne based artist Harts has a musical skill set comparable to that of Julian Casablancas and luscious hair comparable to, well, also Julian Casablancas and he is back with a new cut for us called “All Rise (Play It Cool)”. JC comparisons aside Harts has also been endorsed by living industry legend Prince whom is quoted as saying, “He reminds me of how I was at that age”, which is basically the biggest compliment one could receive from the dude that is literally the ‘symbol’ of ‘playing it cool’.
Harts delivers a welcome alternative to the super mellow, chilled out rock we’ve recently become accustomed to with this fast paced track reminiscent of the old school, Elvis era rock ‘n’ roll (picture coupled dancing with the 50’s style rockabilly dresses) mixed with a little funk.
Harts himself has offered this explanation of the track, “I really wanted to write an up-tempo classic rock and roll tune. With whatever we may be going on in life, just a little reminder for us to turn off our minds for a moment and have a good time while we’re here.”
The single is the first from his forthcoming second album due for release in March 2016, but don’t just take our word for it, have a listen yourself and then catch him at any of these upcoming shows:
