FEATURE: 10 Songs That Shouldn't Have Been Released This Year

Thursday, November 5, 2015

Every year some amazing songs get released that will remain classics. Songs that you play at parties to remember the good times you had that year. However every year has its list of terrible songs that shouldn’t have been released, here is 10 of them.

'Dear Future Husband' – Meghan Trainor
Meghan is all about the 50’s gender roles… and making terrible music. A cut and paste song made to be the most un-original and boring song of the year.

'Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae)' – Silento
Is it sad that this song made me miss that Crank Dat song from Soulja Boy? “You already know who it is” he sings on the opening line, and no, Silento, I do not know who you are, is this not your first song? A song that just repeats dance moves over and over and over again is an exercise in stupidity.

'Hurricane' - Soulja Boy Tell ‘Em
Speak of the devil. This song is basically him repeating diamond and whip over a really simple (and not in a good way) beat. I’m not really sure what the point of the song is. Out of all songs on this list this one has no reason to exist. I mean maybe in 2005 when ringtone tunes were a thing.

'Hoodie On' - Matt and Kim
This song is really cringy and just kinda stupid. Wow omg you wear a hoodie. This song seems like something a helicopter parent would play for their 14year old. The overly happy tone hurts my overly cynical ears.

'Fly' - Hopsin
Hopsin is like that kid in highschool who thinks he is some revolutionary genius. This song is filled with cringe-worthy lines that he thinks are reeeeallly smart and insightful. The vocals on the end of the song are really jarring as well.

'Dooo It!' – Miley Cyrus
Miley asks on this song “Why do they put the dick in the pussy?” and honestly that’s all you need to know to understand how terrible this song is.

'DEATHCAMP' – Tyler, The Creator
Sounding like a Death Grips throwaway this song showcases all of his anger and teenage angst in one song. The over distorted and compressed beat is terrible, and if Tyler wants to have a little outburst on a song, good for him, but it doesn’t make for a good song.

'Weekend' Ft. Lil John – Eden Xo
This song sounds like a sequel to that Rebecca Black song. And Lil John is completely out of place and does his usual yelling. I can’t even listen to the full song it just grinds on my ears.

'The Hills' Remix ft Eminem
This remix was terrible, the feature from Eminem really did not fit in well with the song and the sped up beat and the squeaky vocals from The Weeknd nearly made me never want to hear the original again…nearly.

'Drugs In Yo Body' - Stitches & Kyga She’s A Liar Ft. InkMonstarr (Kylie Jenner & Tyga Diss) - Stitches
What did I do to you Stitches. When I get home from a hard day at work I want to turn on some music and relax. I heard a lot about your beef with… well everyone and was like ‘yo I might check it out’. So I sit down, ready to relax a bit, and then I click on this song. And for some reason you want to yell at me with one of the worst hooks of the year. Also you got the worst diss track of this year, so congrats. It makes the Meek Mill diss track sound golden. So at least you got that going for you.
