Davey Havok and Jade Puget, both from the legendary AFI, have returned once more as Blaqk Audio. The new album Material sees them embrace their electronic alter ego and has been slated for release on April 15th. To get fans pumped up for the new album they've unleashed a taste with new track 'Anointed'.
The album was recorded and produced by Puget, and will mark their third LP release as Blaqk Audio. Puget commented that his musical inspirations have changed as they years have progressed, “Influences are different, musical interests have slightly or vastly shifted. As a writer, I’ve moved fully onto [software music sequencer] Ableton Live since the last album, which changes my workflow and writing style.”
Artists such as Daft Punk, Depeche Mode, Ministry, Squarepusher, Nitzer Ebb, and Front 242 continue to be a driving force in his realm of musical inspiration.
