NY and LA based duo, MS MR, were last here when they wowed everyone at Splendour in the Grass last year. Expect to see the same degree of amazingness and they're definitely not to be missed! Max Hershenow took some time out from their busy schedule to answer a few questions for us.
How do you expect this visit to Australia will be different from your last?
We always have an amazing time in Australia and are so excited to be back! We’re pumped to be playing GTM since we get to see so many new cities and meet fans who haven’t gotten to see the show yet.
Is there anywhere you look forward to revisiting? Are there any secret spots you discovered on your last trip out here?
We can’t wait to be back in Perth…we fell in love with it when we came to play Laneway a few years ago and have been itching to be back on those glorious beaches.
The last time you were here was around the time you released How Does It Feel. Has there been a particular song from the album that you’ve enjoyed playing live over the last year?
Reckless starts off the set and kicks the show into high gear immediately…people start dancing right off the bat, which sets the tone for the whole show.
Do you have a preference over small venues or festivals? How is the vibe different at each?
They work in tandem – small shows are fun because it’s our fans and everyone’s familiar with the music so it feels kind of like a family reunion of sorts. And festivals are incredible because we write quite ambitious music that we think makes sense on a massive festival stage, plus it’s a chance to win over new fans.
What are some secrets you can share about the next record?
We have nothing for you yet.
How should fans prepare just as their about to see you live?
Bring some shoes you can dance in and get ready to get sweaty.
