Melbourne's Woodes released her brand new single 'Rise' today. The single comes after the release of her previous single 'The Thaw' a few months ago.
The stunning track features the talented singer/producer's delicate vocals appear over a minimal, yet captivating electronic beat. The ethereal track sees her embrace the art of storytelling beautifully throughout it's lyrics.
'Rise' doesn't only future the vocals of Woodes, she was able to get an A+ choir on-board on the backing vocals as well, including Alex Lahey, LANKS, Lupa J, Nirrimi, Abraham Tilbury, Edward Vanzet, Golden Vessel, Tommy Wilson, Juice Webster, Uncle Bobby, Jaysways and Batts. In a statement, she says "It was the first time I received guest vocals on my own song and it felt really special to have them all singing along with me. Rise is a story with a beginning, middle and an end. To me I see it all quite visually about a woman that emerges from the water."
Woodes has just finished up touring around Australia playing sold out performances supporting Montaigne and Dustin Tebutt. Recently, she was announced as main support on Ngaiire's upcoming east coast tour.
