Single Review: Plastic – 'Has Anyone Ever Told You You're Alive'

Thursday, March 16, 2017

Melbourne's very own Plastic have unleashed their first single in over a year with 'Has Anyone Ever Told You You’re Alive'.

From the moment it opens up, can feel the incredible energy bursting through the track. The winding distorted guitars are possessed with high octane power, and it's powerful. Though there is a lot going on strings wise, it works well, and all the elements in their instrumentals work perfectly and balance well. Because of the heaviness of the guitars, it could have ended up like alphabetical soup (don't get me wrong, I like it, but damn does it get messy), but the track avoids this and unites into something amazing. The lyrics are also enticing, adding another element to this impressive tune.

Plastic recently played a sold out show in Auckland and have previously been on the road with the likes of Alex Lahey and Frida. You can catch them at their single launch for this track on March 31 at Bar Open. Also, stay tuned for the release of their EP Air Conditioning in April.
