The wonderful Ásgeir released his new video for his brilliant single 'Stardust' today. Iceland's national treasure is also set to head to Australia for Splendour in the Grass, as well as some sideshows mid-year.
The video for 'Stardust' sees him playing on stage, being his cool self while a production of dancers and synchronised dancers surround him. Can I just mention how professional and chill AF he looks there, I can guarantee that if that was me there, I probably would have jumped into the pool and caused some sort of riot. The video is a reference to old-school Hollywood productions. It reminds me of the mermaid scene in Hail Caesar! when Scar-Jo is the shining star of a synchronised dance production, and then goes rogue.
As soon as the lights turn off, the leading lady in 'Stardust' explores the hidden world through a barrel. She Smiles and looks ever-so-graceful as she whirls around this portal of such and makes her escape towards her lover.
Ásgeir's new album Afterglow is set to drop on May 5th, which is exciting as he'll have an array of new tunes to play when he hits Australia. Watch the video for 'Stardust' below, and also find out where you can catch him at his sideshows.
