Brisbane's Future Haunts feature in our latest edition of 'What Song...'. Fresh from the release of their single 'Make Time', the alt-rockers also played a show in Sydney recently, and are playing a show during Rare Finds at Black Bear Lodge tonight (be sure to head on over if you're in Brizzy!). Check out some of their fave tracks below.
What song reminds you of your youth?
Aptly titled, this one brings us back to the days of being on the footy field as a kid with a couple of Dads getting a bit too full on from the sidelines. Very relevant to growing up in a small town.
What song is your ultimate party track?
This song just straight up brings the positive vibes. It's like wearing a poncho, you absolutely can't have a bad time wearing a poncho. Definitely a favourite among all of our mates and it's just so damn catchy.
What song would you love to sample?
We're not really the kind of band that's going to sample something anytime soon. That being said, however, there is something about really unique, interesting recordings that is fascinating. The drum track in this song strikes me every time as something that shouldn't sound great but works so well in that context. The keys/synth sound is something that also seems fresh and unique. Also, the backing vocals are superb. Actually, I pretty much wish I could sample this entire song and call it my own.
What song would you make your theme song?
This song is so badass it's not even funny. Could totally imagine using this as a wrestling entrance theme.
What do you have on repeat right now?
The new Bad // Dreems album is definitely getting its fair share of spin time at the moment. This track has so much energy and just makes you want to get up and wake the neighbours.
What song is your guilty pleasure?
Can't get enough of this song. A couple of our parents were really into ELO and we were lucky enough to get handed down their record collection, which is how we discovered this gem.
