Artist Spotlight: boy pablo

Wednesday, November 29, 2017

boy pablo is a musical project by young singer-songwriter Pablo Muñoz, who is based in Norway but also has some Chilean roots. Pablo captured the world's ears after the release of his breakout single 'Everytime', which you've probably noticed popping up in your 'recommended videos' list on Youtube thanks to the power of algorithms (and the track is pretty damn awesome too). Despite the popularity of his single 'Everytime', he's gained a lot of attention since very late 2015 and has gone on to win Eggstockfestivalen, became the youngest ever musician to book Vill Vill Vest and has even performed in front of Norwegian royalty.

As I mentioned before, all the craze has been about the video for 'Everytime'. The video sees Pablo and his bandmates awkwardly in the sun playing their instruments. The lo-fi techniques are absolutely delightful and its hard not to love this video. The video's highlight is at the end, just you wait for it.

The next track we're featuring in our Artist Spotlight is 'Flowers', which was unleashed over a year ago. The track mixes melancholic vibes with sun-gazed pop. Another beautiful thing about 'Flowers' is its storylike nature.

Pablo released EP roy pablo earlier this year, and it has been receiving a surge of plays and love. Here Downunder, we're heading into Summer and this is the EP you want to have playing in the background whilst you're building sand castles or playing frisbee. If you're a big fan of local faves Last Dinosaurs, then you're going to fall in love with this EP.

Keep your eye on boy pablo, you'll regret it if you don't.
