Single Review: Haulm – 'Settle'

Monday, November 13, 2017

If you're looking for a track that's going to take you into another world, look no further than 'Settle' by Haulm. Haulm are Brooklyn-based and is a collaboration between vocalist and composer JT Norton and producer Reed Kackley (BAILE). If 'Settle' proves anything, it's that these two are the ultimate dream-duo.

'Settle' presents and an impending feeling of darkness, which drives the track. This feeling of darkness is utterly dazzling. The synths play an influential role in the atmospheric nature of the track and as a listener, you can't help but feel compelled by them. Another incredible aspect of 'Settle' is displayed in the way they have infused R&B vibes into the track. The story presented is just as fascinating and dives into the perplexing emotions that come from human relationships, including the difficulties of letting someone in or remaining within your own solitude. The story they display hits you hard and it makes you want to close your eyes and reflect on the words JT Norton sings.
