Feature: We Play 'What Song...' with Lili Kendall

Sunday, December 31, 2017

Lili Kendall unleashed her new track 'Lifetime' recently, and we absolutely love it! Described as a 'cosmic love song', the track is an exciting preview of what we can expect from her future releases. We look forward to seeing what she has in store for 2018. Though she is in the process of prepping her EP for release, Lili Kendall found some time to give us a little insight into some of her fave tunes.

What song reminds you of your youth?
'Send Me On My Way' by Rusted Roots
I loved Matilda when I was little, and every time the intro to that song starts playing it takes me back to my living room when I was 5.

What song would you love to sample?
'Flying' by The Beatles
Magical Mystery Tour is one of my favourite albums. I’ve always wanted to get in the studio with a bunch of musicians and recreate that track – restructure it and write something over the top.

What song did you last listen to?
I’m currently listening to 'Scales' by Solange and Kelela while answering these!

What song do you wish you collaborated on?
None – each song is the way it is because of the creatives behind it, and the connection they have with themselves and others in the room.

What song is your ultimate party track?
'Public Service Announcement' by Jay Z
Because you really can’t help but get hype when you hear “Allow me to reintroduce myself…my name is HOV…H TO THE OV” when you’re in the club!

What song has been your favourite track of the year?
Every single song on CTRL was amazing to me. I can’t even choose one.
