At the beginning of the year, we stumbled across Cassette Tapes' debut single 'Fall Apart' and were instantly wowed by the duo from San Francisco. Since the release of 'Fall Apart', they've been busy refining their sound and impressing with releases such as 'Bad Guy' (ft. FastLane Frank), 'Breathe', 'Forgiveness' and 'Sugar Rush' (which was released with Kitsuné).
Their latest single 'Dreaming' is an alluring mix of R&B and electro-soul. The introspective lyrics are absorbing and rich with depth. The track discusses an unquenchable feeling of longing. The production is just as impressive. Featuring lush soundscapes, 'Dreaming' sounds like a delicate rainforest of atmospheric synths.
Cassette Tapes continue to impress and we're eagerly awaiting to see where 'Dreaming' and former single 'Forgiveness' lead to for the duo.
