Australian artist Oliver Kirby aka LOVER is closing out the year strong with his single 'Best Side', which was released via Mammal Sounds Records. LOVER recently took some time out to dive into the story behind his captivating single for us.
I wrote ‘Best Side’... in a positive headspace, for a friend who was going through a low point.
The story behind ‘Best Side' is... to not doubt yourself so much.
My favourite lyric is… ”Judgement in the air just chokes us both / rather breathe in the bare smoke”
It was made… in my house which I share with Tanssi (producer of 'Best Side') and 'Oh Boy'.
My main inspiration was… Rex Orange County and how he has a ‘heart on the sleeve’ type lyricism!
It sounds best when… the sun is setting.
