Before she unleashes her highly anticipated debut EP Hold Yourself Together on February 1st, Asha Jefferies has given us all a serving of what to expect with her latest tune ‘If You Were My Hero’.
According to Asha, ‘If You Were My Hero’ is one of the most upbeat songs she has ever written, “If You Were My Hero' is the happiest song I've ever written. I wrote it about dating someone because a psychic told me I should. After a short-lived love affair and an inevitable break up, I realised I'd never been happier to be happy on my own”. Throughout the duration of the track, she’s able to tell a captivating story through exquisite and thoughtful lyrics.
The track’s music video was directed and crafted up by NIDA students as part of triple j Unearthed’s 2018 NIDA competition last year.
We’re always huge fans of everything Asha Jefferies does and ‘If You Were My Hero’ gives us all the goodness we need.
