Before it’s officially released into the world tomorrow, it’s our pleasure to bring you The Empty Threats’ brand new EP Ablutions (set to be released via GD FRNDS). Along with the release of the EP, the four-piece from Adelaide have also dropped two live dates to celebrate its release.

Spanning four tracks, Ablutions is a masterclass in psych-rock and enthralling songwriting. Each of the tracks is about freeing oneself from negativity and intrusive thoughts. On the EP, guitarist Matt Schultz said, “It's a reflection from the band about the change that we have been through over the past year or so. Commenting on our personal mental states, the state of society and trying to have a positive headspace moving forward”. Each aspect of the EP, including the position of the tracks, has been well thought-out by the band to amplify its deeper connotations.

Ablutions also saw the band work with two-time ARIA Award-nominated producer, Matt Hills, to record, mix and master the EP.

The Empty Threats continue to work hard to refine their sound and Ablutions is another huge step forward for them.
