Q&A: Will Fletcher from murmurmur

Monday, March 4, 2019

To celebrate By The Meadow later this month, we're hosting some q&as with some of the artists featuring on the line-up. First up is murmurmur. Check out what Will Fletcher from the band had to say below.

Late last year, you dropped your first EP, which must have been very exciting! What was the process like putting it together?

Very exciting indeed! The process was super relaxed. The songs came together when I was fired from my terrible job. It instantly put me in a great musical place. Then we did some rearranging and work shopping. Once we were in the studio we did a couple of days of live takes then a few more for overdubs and vocals. Overall it was a really easy process and Oscar Dawson is a legend.

What lessons did you learn whilst creating it?

Snacks during the recording process are very important. I’d recommend chocolate coated liquorice and San Pellegrino to ensure the process is delicious.

With By The Meadow coming up, what are you most looking forward to during the festival?

Playing the show and frolicking in some meadows afterwards

Is there anyone you’re looking forward to seeing?

Vasco Era and The Murlocs

What other plans do you have for 2019?

We’re going back into the studio next month to record a new single. Apart from that we just want to play as much as possible this year.
