Before it's unleashed into the wild tomorrow April 12th, we're delighted to bring you a sneaky listen of Ragged's debut album Love In Your Hands. Blending elements of rock, reggae and pop, the New Zealand five-piece are on a mission to smash down the boundaries of genre on their album and they do it in mighty style.
Across a carefully curated selection of eight tracks, Ragged takes listeners through a journey of stories about lust, love, loss and longing.
The album's opener 'Song X' beams with good vibes and sunshine, as well as an unshakable groove. On the track, guitarist Dylan said, "It’s funny that a song we didn’t really know we had written turned out to be one of the favourites on the album. Always record your jams, you never know what you’ll end up with."
'Is It All The Same' and 'On My Mind' are also infectious numbers. They can mix it up and mellow it down on tracks like 'Love In Your Hands' and 'Bring It Back'. 'It Ain't Over' marks the album's grand finale, and is a track that will resonate deeply with listeners.
With a tour in the works, let's hope they bring their positive energy to Australia, we could all use a dose of Ragged in our lives.
