Now Playing: Barrie – 'Geology'

Tuesday, April 23, 2019

After an impressive string of singles, Barrie once again prove why they're ones-to-watch with their newest track 'Geology'. The release of the track is leading up to their debut album Happy To Be Here on May 3rd via Winspear, which is one of our most anticipated albums of the year.

'Geology' is a delicate release by Barrie, gently combining a soothing groove and contemplative words by Barrie Lindsay. On 'Geology' she said, "I wrote this song in 2015, a few months after I bought my first guitar. I was listening to Best Coast on Song Exploder talking about Feeling Ok. Bethany Cosentino said she was inspired by 90s movies soundtracks like Clueless, She’s All That, 10 Things I Hate About You. It blew my mind because I loved that music but didn’t realize you could take it seriously. That’s where Geology came from."

'Geology' is the final taste of the album before it's released, and we're certain that the album's remaining tracks are going to be just as good.
