If you thought you were going to get through your entire Friday without being hit by a sea of emotions, think again — Brisbane’s Golden Vessel (aka Max Byrne) has knocked it out of the park with another home run with his brand new single ‘HIGHWAY’ (released via Exist Recordings & Ultra Music), which features some vocal magic by his good friend and the incredibly talented Emerson Leif.
The poetic and intimate words of the track appear like a stream of thoughts that usually linger in your mind at 3 am. Emerson Leif’s vocal delivery is dreamlike, which only amplifies the weight of them — mix in Golden Vessel's delicate R&B-like production and you'll be covered in chills.
‘HIGHWAY’ is the first song he made for his upcoming album, he said, “...it came together really fast. I made the beat in the morning and called my friend Emerson Leif to see whether he was up to anything. He came over in the afternoon and I had the idea of recording him a few times across the track without thinking about lyrics / melodies beforehand and just singing subconsciously.”
Golden Vessel’s highly anticipated debut album SLOWSHINE is set to be released on May 17th and we’re certain it’s going to be just as mesmerising as everything he has released in the lead-up.
