Byron Bay-based singer-songwriter Yorke has come through with yet another exquisite single with her latest release 'Thought I Could'. The up-and-comer, who continues to take the year by storm, recently supported Ruel and will be supporting Jack Gray later this month.

Her soaring new single is a coming-of-age track that explores feeling overwhelmed and out of place. Yorke not only captures this through her powerful vocals but also in her stirring lyrics — "I always wanted to leave this place but I never thought I would," and "Always felt so out of place / and you thought I would always be around." Once you hit the chorus, you're hit by a rush of surging instrumentals that only heighten her words even more.

On the track, she said, "I had to tell someone that I was leaving, and I was really nervous about that going into the session. So, we just used that as fuel for the song to find what I wanted to say to them."
