Now Playing: Working Men's Club – 'Teeth'

Thursday, July 18, 2019

One of our favourite breakthrough acts of 2019, Working Men's Club, have revealed their first single since signing with Heavenly Recordings this year. Their newest offering 'Teeth' was also released with the music video, which was directed by Jak Payne, and depicts nightmarish scenes of being caught in the mundanity of working 9 to 5.

The post-punk single makes you feel like you're caught in a trance, and there's no escape. The gloomy and persistent synths in the background bring a shadowy mood to the track. Despite the ominous tone of 'Teeth', there's an underlying groove that pulls you in. The band said in a statement that they wanted to leave listeners guessing with the song's meaning. Vocalist and guitarist Sydney Minsky-Sargeant said, "It could be about going insane or what you see, what you think you feel inside, a lot of things … put through a drum machine … basically we just want to confuse the fuck out of people, in a good way!"

There's a lot to love about the band from West Yorkshire and 'Teeth' is yet another huge addition to their growing pool of heartstopping singles.
