With the release of her highly anticipated album Hello, I’m Doing My Best coming up in the coming months (note October 18 in your diaries), Ali Barter has shared a taste of what's to come with her recent single 'Backseat', as well as 'UR A Piece Of Shit'. Amongst planning her upcoming world tour and prepping for the album's release, she recently took some time out to share the story behind 'Backseat'.

I wrote ‘Backseat’… down the coast of Victoria in a beach house next to a fire drinking tea.

The story behind ‘Backseat' is… it’s a story of a girl admiring a boy from afar and then locking it down.

My favourite lyric is… “You got really cool hair”… it’s true.

It was made… at Head Gap recording studio in Preston, VIC.

My main inspiration was… my life. I really perved on a cute boy in a band before making him mine.

It sounds best when… played live with the band. Come to a show so you can hear it!
