Los Angeles band The Growlers continue their steady stream of incredible singles with 'Try Hard Fool', which was released earlier this month. The band are currently working towards the release of their new album Natural Affair, which doesn't have an official release date yet. 'Try Hard Fool' follows their other cuts from the album, including the title track and 'Foghorn Town'.

Their most recent offering 'Try Hard Fool' features a fascinating and gripping fusion of hazy guitars, piercing keyboards and musing vocals — it's a captivating track that revives The Growlers of old. According to Brooks Nielsen, he wrote the song as a reminder to always keep his feet on the ground.

On the track, Nielsen said, "It’s an old term we used growing up. Like, ‘That kid’s a try-hard.’ Trying too hard to be popular, trying to be successful. If I feel like I’m trying too hard at anything, I have to check myself. The lyrics are directed at me, keeping me in line, reminding me to take a break, but don’t quit."

The track features stirring lyrics such as, "Poems in the sky / Reflection, wet and cold / Between death and birth / We're only growing old."
