A few weeks ago, Leeds-based band Van Houten shared their mesmerising self-titled debut album via Clue Records. Spanning eight exquisite tracks, the album is an exploration of mental health, the breakdown of relationships and navigating life's many turns. Though we recommend that give their entire album a spin, 'Two Halves Don't Make a Whole' holds a special place in our hearts.
'Two Halves Don't Make a Whole' is more than just a dreamy slice of psych-pop — the contemplative track reflects on what happens when two people who aren't feeling whole can't come together to support one another and make each other happy. The lyrics are stunning and capture the story behind 'Two Halves Don't Make a Whole', including, "I need a little time to make a new decision / and I need the space to breathe." The track also features a beautiful guitar solo that will leave you covered in goosebumps.
Listen to 'Two Halves Don't Make a Whole' by Van Houten below. If you love the track just as much as we do, you can listen to the rest of the album here.
