Los Angeles trio Automatic last week unveiled one of the best post-punk albums of the year with their debut offering Signal via Stones Throw Records. Though we highly recommend that you give the entire album a whirl on-repeat from start-to-finish, Signal is home to their most recent single and the album's closer 'Strange Conversations'.
Directed by Samsonite, the absorbing video for 'Strange Conversations' tells the story of a woman alone in a bar who seems engrossed in her own thoughts and feels self-conscious and withdrawn from everyone around her. As the video reaches its end, she becomes more fearless and confident within herself. The video captures the contemplative nature of the track and the emotions brimming in their words, including lyrics such as, "I'm walking backwards / Though I find it hard to tell / The world goes faster / When your time is running out."
