We're excited to today share with you the brand new video for Boats' latest single 'Falling Off Rainbows', which will be officially released tomorrow Wednesday, October 30th. The single is Boats' first taste of his upcoming EP, currently due for release early in 2020. He is also playing a string of shows on Sunday afternoons at The Tote. You can catch the shows on December 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd, and 29th.
The video for 'Falling Off Rainbows' is directed and shot by Josh Fish, and "is an interpretation of contemporary gridlock between groups of people with mixed ideologies and the failure and tension between them." When writing 'Falling Off Rainbows', Blake Paterson of Boats found himself drawn to the world's current political, social and environmental state. He said, "‘Falling Off Rainbows’ brought fear and vertigo upon awaking from recurring bad dreams as a child. Much like the way I feel sometimes about the current state of affairs as more and more I choose to open my eyes. It’s about failure, continuing to fail, continuing to fall off something that is beautiful."
Boats' forthcoming EP will expand on the themes of 'Falling Off Rainbows', including reflecting on existential and dystopian trajectories.
