Our world is amidst some dispiriting times and NYC band The Wants take the darkness of our current social and political climate to turn them into honest and unfiltered reflections, as well as critiques of those causing the harm. Their latest single 'Container', which is the title track from their highly anticipated debut album, is another hair-raising offering from the band.

The first words that you when you press play, "Watch it / Pull it apart / Can it fit in a container?" provides for a startling start to the track. What proceeds is a series of graphic action verbs that reflect on the ways society tries to control and extirpate self-expression and individuality in order to fit into a mold. The lyrics we hear on 'Container' include, "mold it", "patch it", "tease it", dodge it", "fold it" and "massage it", all as vivid as the next.  Accompanying their sharp lyrics are shadowy instrumentals, including a persistent and gritty bassline, feverish guitars, and commanding percussion.

The rest of The Wants' album Container will be unveiled on March 13 via Council Records. Listen to their latest single below.
