GUM aka Jay Watson has returned once again with a brand new single, this time sharing ‘Don’t Let It Go Out’. The release of the single coincides with further details of his fifth studio album Out In The World, which will be released on June 12th via Spinning Top Records/Caroline Australia.
According to Watson, the track is about capturing memories and the ways they could be easily lost. He says, “It's about our modern desire to capture or record and keep every moment. The ease to not only do all this but then lose it forever down the track inspires and disturbs me.”
The album was written and recorded in his home of Fremantle and is set to feature intriguing musings and observations of the world through the eyes of Watson. He said on the album, “This album is my attempt at making a record that combines my fascination of how other people live their lives, with my own internal desire to analyse mine and improve it. Out In The World was a phrase that conjured a lot of grandeur and ego, yet somehow felt really small and wholesome at the same time.”
