Glasgow-based gothic post-punk and electronic-pop group The Ninth Wave this week shared the video for their mesmerising track ‘Abattoir’, which appears on their most recent EP Happy Days!. On November 13th, they will be sharing a series of remixes of songs from Happy Days! (titled Unhappy Days!) by artists such as Mogwai, Working Men’s Club, Low Spirits, The Twilight Sad and Dream Wife.

The haunting number is one of The Ninth Wave’s most stirring offerings yet and is home to poignant and poetic words such as, “I've forgotten how to dream / (not afraid to lose your mind) / I see blank figures in my sleep / (but what if I've lost my time for you?).” The self-directed video for ‘Abattoir’ features footage that fans sent to them during lockdown. They then transferred the videos to VHS and filmed themselves watching and singing along in an abattoir.
