Dark-alt pop duo Charlotte Spiral have this month unleashed their first single of 2021 with their hypnotising new number ‘New Light’. The track, which was produced by Speedy Wunderground’s-own and the legendary Dan Carey, follows their memorable debut EP Ideal Life, released early last year.
’New Light’ is a preview of their forthcoming EP, due on April 9th, which is set to explore themes such as loss, introspection, self-criticism, and escapism.
The lead single reflects on wishing you were someplace else and falling into an endless loop of comparing your life to someone else’s. Lead singer Amy Spencer said on ’New Light’, “It’s simply a message to myself to live more in the present and stop imagining how things could be, especially nowadays when it's so easy to get distracted and compare yourself to other people.”
