Hebden Bridge up-and-comers The Lounge Society continues their ascent, today coming through with their brand new single ‘Cain’s Hersey’. The track follows in the footsteps of the UK band’s previous offering ‘Burn The Heather’, which also made an appearance on our best tracks of 2020 list at the end of last year.
Raw and honest, in true The Lounge Society style, ‘Cain’s Hersey’ sees them reflect on the biblical story of Cain and Abel, connecting it to the spirally and disastrous path our modern world is on.
The band said, “‘Cain’s Hersey’ is a portrait of the world we’re headed to — where consumers lie sedated while ‘This Week’s Hot Trend’ and ‘101 Style Tips For Summer’ are forced down their throats by gloved hands. It’s our way of saying ‘not on my watch’. Cain and Abel were brothers at war, and this song is our last stand in the war on culture which is being waged by corporations at the moment.”
Along with sharing the single, The Lounge Society is currently getting ready to release their much-anticipated debut EP Silk For The Starving via legendary label Speedy Wunderground on June 18th.
