Philadelphia band Mannequin Pussy have announced that they’re set to release an EP in the coming months. Perfect, out on May 21st via Epitaph, is set to feature the band’s newly released single ‘Control’, which was revealed this week.
‘Control’ opens with tender vocals and light guitar strumming before kicking into high gear approximately one minute in. Missy’s vocal delivery features words such as “I've come undone I sliced that I would rather feel the end / Separated / Thanks for watching me pleading out and over all your sheets / For cleaning me / And what I want I need / Is just one real bitch to set me free.”
Mannequin Pussy's new music comes after the band spent much of 2020 apart due to the pandemic. They made the decision to work in person again and book in some studio time. Missy said, “We just figured if we forced ourselves into this situation where someone could hit 'record,' something might come out. We'd never written that way before.”
